How to use TIFF to JPG
- 1Drop your .tif or .tiff files into the box or click Choose files.
- 2Choose JPG or PNG and set the quality.
- 3Optionally turn on Shrink large images to reduce the pixel size of big scans.
- 4Click Convert to JPG.
- 5Download the images. A multi-page TIFF downloads as a ZIP with one file per page.
Multi-page TIFF support
Scanners and fax programs often save a whole document as one TIFF with several pages. Many online converters only give you the first page. Here every page is converted and named in order (for example contract-page-01.jpg, contract-page-02.jpg) and packed into a ZIP. Small preview thumbnails inside the file are skipped. Want one document instead of images? Use TIFF to PDF.
Supported TIFF types
The decoder handles uncompressed, LZW, PackBits, Deflate (ZIP), JPEG-compressed and CCITT Group 3 and Group 4 fax TIFFs, in black and white, grayscale, palette, RGB and CMYK, with 1 to 16 bits per channel. 16-bit images are converted to standard 8-bit JPG or PNG.
Black-and-white scans become larger as JPG because JPG is made for photos. If you need crisp text, choose PNG, or make a PDF, which stores black-and-white pages losslessly.
Privacy
TIFF files are often scanned contracts, IDs or medical records. This converter runs entirely in your browser, so none of those pages are uploaded anywhere. The TIFF decoder loads only when you convert.
Frequently asked questions
Does it convert every page of a multi-page TIFF?
Yes. Each page becomes its own JPG, numbered in order, and you download them together as a ZIP.
Can I convert TIFF to PNG instead?
Yes. Pick PNG under Output format. PNG is lossless and better for scanned text and line art.
Why did my fax TIFF become so large as JPG?
Fax TIFFs use compression designed for black and white, which is extremely compact. JPG is a photo format and stores gray levels, so it needs more space. Use PNG or TIFF to PDF to keep text sharp and files small.
Is there a file size limit?
Files up to 200 MB can be added. Very large scans depend on your device memory, so shrinking large images helps on phones.
Are my files uploaded?
No. Everything is processed in your browser.
Can I choose how big the JPGs are?
Yes. Lower the quality for smaller files, and turn on Shrink large images to limit the longest side, for example to 2560 pixels for a readable full page scan.
