How to use Case Converter

  1. 1Type or paste your text into the Your text box. It is saved in this browser only, so a refresh does not lose it.
  2. 2Click a case button such as Title Case, Sentence case or snake_case. The result updates as you type.
  3. 3For Title Case, choose the AP or Chicago style guide to control which small words stay lowercase.
  4. 4Click Copy to copy the result, .txt to download it, or Use as input to keep converting it.
  5. 5Check All formats at a glance to compare every case and copy any of them directly.

Title Case that follows real style rules

Most case converters capitalize every word, which gives you titles like "The Lord Of The Rings". This tool keeps articles (a, an, the), short conjunctions (and, but, or) and short prepositions (of, in, on, to) lowercase unless they are the first or last word or follow a colon. The AP option capitalizes prepositions of four letters or more (With, Over, From), while Chicago lowercases all prepositions.

Words that already have deliberate capitals are left alone, so NASA, iPhone and URLs survive. Text typed entirely in capitals is treated as lowercase first, so "THE QUICK BROWN FOX" becomes "The Quick Brown Fox". Hyphenated compounds are handled too: "step-by-step guide" becomes "Step-by-Step Guide".

Cases for code and file names

camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE and dot.case split your text into words first, so mixed input converts cleanly. "XMLHttpRequest parse" becomes xml_http_request_parse, and "hello-world_foo" becomes helloWorldFoo. Each line is converted separately, which makes it easy to rename a whole list of variables, CSS classes or file names at once.

aLtErNaTiNg case and iNVERSE case are there for memes and for fixing text typed with Caps Lock on by mistake.

Private by design

Conversion happens in JavaScript in your browser tab. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and the draft saved for convenience stays in this browser's local storage. Clearing the box removes it.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?

Title Case capitalizes the main words of a heading and keeps small words like of, the and and lowercase. Sentence case capitalizes only the first word of each sentence and proper words you already wrote in capitals, like NASA.

Which words stay lowercase in Title Case?

Articles (a, an, the), coordinating conjunctions (and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet) and short prepositions (at, by, in, of, on, to, via). Chicago style also lowercases longer prepositions such as with, over and between. The first and last word are always capitalized.

Does it keep acronyms like NASA or brand names like iPhone?

Yes. Words with capitals after the first letter or written fully in capitals are kept as they are in Title Case and Sentence case, unless your whole text is in capitals.

Can I convert many lines at once?

Yes. Paste a list and every line is converted separately, which is handy for variable names, slugs and headings.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser and works offline once the page has loaded.
