How to use PDF to PNG
- 1Drop a PDF into the box. If it is password protected, enter the password.
- 2Click the page thumbnails to pick pages, or type a range such as 1-3, 5.
- 3Choose PNG or JPG and a resolution of 72, 150 or 300 DPI.
- 4Click Convert, then download single pages or all of them as a ZIP.
Which resolution to choose
- 72 DPI: the page at screen size. Small files, good for quick previews.
- 150 DPI: sharp on most screens and fine for slides and websites.
- 300 DPI: print quality. An A4 or Letter page becomes about 2500 x 3300 pixels, so files are larger and conversion takes longer.
Each finished image shows its pixel size and file size.
PNG or JPG
PNG keeps text and line drawings perfectly sharp and can use a transparent background instead of white, which is useful for diagrams and signatures you want to place on other designs. JPG gives much smaller files for pages full of photos, with a quality slider to balance size and detail.
Privacy and limits
The PDF is opened and rendered by a PDF engine running in your browser, and passwords are only used locally. Extremely large pages are rendered at a lower resolution so they fit in browser memory, and you are told when that happens. Damaged PDFs show a clear error instead of a blank result.
Frequently asked questions
Can I convert only some pages?
Yes. Click thumbnails to select pages, or type ranges like 2-4, 7, 10- in the Pages box.
What DPI should I use for printing?
300 DPI is the usual standard for print. Use 150 DPI for screens to keep files smaller.
Can I get PNG images with a transparent background?
Yes. Choose PNG and turn on Transparent background. Areas of the page with nothing drawn become transparent.
Does it work with password protected PDFs?
Yes, if you know the password. You are asked for it when the file opens, and it is only used in your browser.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are rendered on your device.
